I had never met this women before and the only thing we knew about her is that about 4 months ago her house caught fire, caused by a faulty electrical system in her bedroom while she was working the night shift at New Hanover regional medical Center.  Her home was completely destroyed. Only 6 months prior had a street light been installed that allowed her nephew to see the smoke coming from her house and call the fire department.

This woman is a single mother who has raised two children alone all her life. She has worked two jobs, while instilling the highest morals into them. The oldest is a daughter who had to move to Virginia to live with relatives while earning her Masters in Forensic Science, while the son is an honors student earning metals and plaques in any sport he took on. He now works a local cable network company.

There are many volunteers willing to help in rebuilding this home, but we need help. If you are a contractor, willing to help out, thank you! If you wish to help with a monetary donation, a bank account has been set up at Wood Forest  National Bank, inside the Wal-Mart store in Leland. The account is in the names of Sandra Reaves (home owner) and Tim Byrd.
