Gators Super Soph Tabbed Player of the Week

East Columbus Gators sophomore center Elijah Gresham has been named the LNR/State Farm Player of the Week.
East Columbus Gators sophomore center Elijah Gresham has been named the LNR/State Farm Player of the Week. The 6’6” Gresham recorded two double doubles during the week with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a win at South Robeson. He also scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a loss against regular season champion Fairmont.
Gresham, has six double doubles on the year with a career high 17 points in a 57-37 win over Red Springs and 20 rebounds in the same game. He has improved his scoring average to 10 points per game and is also averaging 10 rebounds a contest.

been an integral part of the Lady Scorpions success to this point in the season. Although she is averaging about five points a game she is grabbing seven rebounds per contest and usually is assigned to the taller opponents in the middle.
Keaton has three double figure scoring games this season a 58-51 win over West Bladen when she scored 10 points and grabbed a season high 15 rebounds. She also has four double figure games in rebounds, including three out of the last four games.
Keaton will be a key part of Coach Travis Fortune’s teams success over the next four years as most of his young squad is made up of underclassmen. The Lady Scorpions are currently 8-13 and 6-6 in conference play as they prepare for the Waccamaw Conference tournament where they will be hosting South Columbus in the opening round.

Jeremy Young Named Player of the Week
North Brunswick’s senior guard Jeremy Young has been named the Leland News Review/State Farm Player of the Week. Young led the Scorpions to three straight wins this week to help North Brunswick improve to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in Waccamaw Conference action.
The Scorpions defeated South Brunswick 42-37, West Brunswick 64-54, and Whiteville 59-50. In the Whiteville game Young scored a game high 24 points, hitting four three points shots. He also had nine rebounds, seven steals, and handed out seven assists.
Down the stretch Young nailed seven free throws out of eight attempts to ice the game for the Scorpions. Young is now averaging 14 points a game for the season.

Lauren Jenkins Named Player of Week
East Columbus Lady Gators’ sophomore center has been named the State Farm/Local News Review
Player of the Week. The 6’0” Jenkins led coach Karlyn Stephens squad to four victories last week and is now averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Jenkins led East Columbus to a 62-26 win over Fairmont with 10 points and nine rebounds. She scored 13 points and six rebounds in a 60-21 win over South Robeson. She recorded a double, double against East Bladen with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and against West Columbus in a 55-19 win she scored 15 points and hauled down eight rebounds.
With the four wins East Columbus has improved their record to 13-3 overall. They also stand 5-1 in Three Rivers Conference play.
Roseborough Tabbed Player of the Week

Legrande Roseborough a 6’2” forward for North Brunswick has been named this week’s State Farm/Local News Review Player of the Week. The senior leader has led the Scorpions to an early 6-3 record, but more importantly a 3-0 record in Waccamaw Conference play.
Although the Scorpions didn’t participate in a holiday tournament over the break, Roseborough led his team to two big conference wins before the break. He had a double, double in a 67-59 win over cross county rival West Brunswick with 10 points and 13 rebounds. That was followed by 15 points and five rebounds in a 60-40 win at Whiteville.
Roseborough has been a huge part of the success coach Bryan Hayes’ Scorpions have had this season. He is averaging 13 points per game and almost eight rebounds per game. Roseborough is a three sport star at North Brunswick where he participates in track and football. He was named to the All-Waccamaw Conference football team this season.

East Columbus’ Hall Named Player of the Week

Brittany Hall, a junior guard for the East Columbus Lady Gators has been named State Farm/LNR player of the week. Hall wheeled her Lady Gators squad to their fifth East Columbus Holiday Tournament title in the 10 year history of the event.
Hall had a team high 18 points in both tournament wins. They defeated Loris 42-16 in the opening game and downed West Bladen 43-38 in the title game.
She scored 36 points in the two games, hitting five three point shots and was five for six at the charity stripe. Hall hauled in five rebounds, came away with 10 steals and six assists.
She has improved her season stats to 13 points per game. She is averaging four assist, three rebounds, and six assists per game. The stat that Hall cares about the most however is that her team is carrying a 7-1 overall record.
Gators’ Wilson Tabbed Player of the Week

Senior guard T.J. Wilson has been named the LNR/State Farm player of the week. Wilson led the Gators to their first two wins of the season. After dropping the first two games of the season the Gators have now won two straight with wins at Whiteville and South Columbus.
The most experienced player on coach Curtis Moss’ squad poured in 20 points in a 49-39 win at Whiteville. After falling behind 9-2 early in the game Wilson led the Gators on a 10-2 run with a pair of three points and a pair of assists that ended the Wolfpack run and help guide the Gators to their first win.
Wilson followed that up with a 20 point performance in a 54-42 win over South Columbus. Wilson will be looking to lead the Gators into Three Rivers Conference action when they travel to West Columbus December 9.
Daja White Named Player of the Week

North Brunswick’s junior guard Daja White has been named the LNR/State Farm player of the week after leading the Lady Scorpions to a pair of victories. She tallied 19 points in the team’s first win of the season, a 51-46 win over East Columbus and 55-54 win over visiting Clinton.
In the Clinton win with the her team down 54-52 with under five seconds remaining on the clock White took a pass at mid-court and hit a driving lay-up to tie the score, getting fouled in the process. She calmly stepped to the charity stripe and sank the free throw giving the Lady Scorpions a huge win over the Dark Horses.
In the Clinton win White scored 19 points hitting six field goals, six free throws, and one three pointer. She also pulled down a team high seven rebounds, and dished out three assists. White is the only returning starter from last year’s team that finished the season 18-7.
